Dear All:

The Christensen Fund Program in Plant Conservation at the International Center for Tropical Ecology has funds available to support short visits to St. Louis by scientists active in tropical plant conservation science or policy. Visiting scientist will be expected to enrich the graduate program in ecology, evolution and systematics through activities such as seminars, lectures, participation in graduate courses and collaborative research. We particularly seek nominations of individuals who you consider would be mentors and role models for our graduate students and also benefit themselves through interaction with faculty and graduate students associated with the University of Missouri St Louis, Missouri Botanical Garden and the Saint Louis Zoo. Visiting scientists will generally be nationals of tropical countries but scientists living in the United States with active plant conservation research programs in tropical countries may also be considered. Please send nominations with a brief biographical paragraph that highlights the match of the nominee with the aims of this visiting scientist program to Dr. Patrick Osborne, Executive Director, International Center for Tropical Ecology, 8001 Natural Bridge Road, University of Missouri-St. Louis, St. Louis 63121 or by email attachment: icte@umsl.edu <mailto:

We are seeking nominations for individuals to visit in Spring 2005 and 2006.

Patrick
